contribute · a missing task
Something we don't have
The library was built by reading research and then by one household arguing with it. It is missing things, and this is the only way we can find out what.
Before you write it
Two things that make a submission usable rather than merely kind:
- Search first. 402 tasks is a lot, and many of them are named differently from how you would say it — each row carries a handful of aliases for exactly this reason. Have a look in the library before you decide it's missing.
- One thing a person could hand over whole. Christmas is a season, not a task. Keep track of who has been invited to what over Christmas is a task.
The form is not built yet
This site is ahead of the app and this is one of the places where that shows. The form needs somewhere to send to, and that is set up at the same time as the app's first release.
Until then: if you have something, it is genuinely wanted — the contact route on the support page reaches the same person. It is worth writing down now rather than when the form exists; the library is still being edited.
What the app will send, when this is wired up
Stated here because it is the whole reason this route exists in a product with no network code in it.
The app transmits nothing. When you create a task the app doesn't have, it offers to open this page in your own browser, with the name you typed already in the field. That is the entire mechanism.
What travels in that link is the task name you typed, and nothing else. Not the category you put it in. Not how often you said you do it. Not a single thing about your household, your partner, or any other row on your list. If that ever stops being true, it stops being a link and starts being telemetry with extra steps, and the decision that allowed it gets reopened rather than reinterpreted.
You will be asked once. If you say no, you will not be asked again.
What not to type
The field is free text, which means it is the one place in this entire product where you could tell us something about a real person. Please don't:
- no names — yours, your partner's, and especially not your children's
- no employers, addresses, schools or clubs
- nothing about a person who has not agreed to it
Book the twins' swimming is useful. Book Amélie's swimming at the Sainte-Croix pool is the same task with three facts we should never be holding.
